TIG Welding Gas

Ryval Gas TIG Welding Gas Cylinders

We are proud to offer TIG Welding Gas which is perfectly suited for hobby welders and small businesses. Our gas cylinders come in 2-litre and 10-litre sizes. The smaller 2-litre cylinder is ideal for hobby welders, where a large and heavy gas cylinder can get in the way and be hard to carry. The 10-litre cylinder is a better choice for professional welders.

What is TIG Welding?

TIG stands for Tungsten Inert Gas Welding, also known GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding). The TIG welding process is performed by feeding welding rods slowly into the weld puddle to fuse metals together. This technique requires both hands to be used, with one hand holding the welding rod, and the other holding the torch and producing the arc. This is a much finer and more time-consuming process than MIG welding, where you continuously feed a wire electrode. The process is commonly used when a precise weld is needed and is mostly used when welding stainless steel, copper, aluminium and titanium.

Benefits of TIG Welding

TIG welding produces a much higher quality weld than MIG welding. We recommend this choice where a smooth finish and attention to detail are required ahead of efficiency. This is a harder and more intricate skill to master than MIG welding but can be a better choice where productivity is not crucial. TIG welding also has minimal post-weld cleaning and does not produce a slag cover.
